New transportation technology and its greater infrastructure, such as the B&O Railroad, impacted Frederick along with the growth of the trolley system and the building of the C&O Canal. By its end the globe had been redrawn, empires had fallen, and war on a terrifying industrial scale, had been unleashed. Look into the world that was, how the Great War ended that world, and how nearly everything we know today comes out of the bloody fighting of 1914-1918 and its immediate aftermath.
