Learn how to construct pillowcases that coordinate with your bedroom decor, team colors, or your favorite motifs. The fabric selection is limitless. You will learn how to make a standard size pillowcase but with the written instructions you’ll receive you will be able to make any size you need for future projects or gifts. We suggest that you either take Sewing In A Nutshell as a pre-requisite or already have proficiency operating a sewing machine prior to taking the course. Students will be required to bring a non-directional quilter’s cotton fabric of their choice. Further details on the fabric type will be provided to the students at least one week prior to the start of the course. Supply costs may vary based on fabric choice but average $25. This is a hands-on class where you will work on a simple quilt square during class. You will learn general piecing and pressing guidelines as well as safety precautions when using a rotary cutter. Apply decorative stitching to add pizzazz and learn a simple way to bind the block like a pro. You will be inspired to apply what you learn into a larger project. In this five-hour fold-forming basics workshop, you’ll work hands-on with the torch, hammer and anvil to learn to fold, shape and texture metal to create a unique cuff bracelet, earrings or pendant from copper sheet metal. Heat patinas will also be discussed and applied to some of your pieces. All supplies included in the course cost. No experience needed.
