Our tour begins with a docent led tour of the U.S. Capitol Building to see the Crypt, Rotunda, and National Statuary Hall. Then we head to the Library of Congress for a guided walking tour of the historic Thomas Jefferson Building, where you’ll marvel at the symbolic art and architecture. Finally, we head to the Supreme Court for a first and second floor tour to view the John Marshall statue, portraits and busts, and self-supporting marble staircases. This part of the tour is self-guided. Lunch is on your own at the U.S. Capitol Cafeteria. Please note that this tour does not include visiting the Senate and House Galleries and the Supreme Court courtroom. This tour involves moderate walking and standing. The Confederate guerrilla chieftain could strike anywhere at any time; and no matter the number of Federals chasing him, he always escaped. Mosby electrified Southern morale and demoralized Union forces operating in Northern Virginia and the Shenandoah Valley. We’ll visit sites of the Gray Ghost’s most famous exploits and explore portions of “horse country” in Loudoun and Fauquier counties with the glory of fall colors as our backdrop. This tour involves light walking up to a mile and standing throughout the day. Lunch is included and will be at the historic and quaint Hunter’s Head Tavern.
