10 ILR 55+ Registration opens December 5, 2022 ACR181 Drawing and Painting: A Mixed Media Survey Course 5 sessions, 10 hours | 16 + Journey into the world of mixed media art, introducing you to pencil, watercolor, acrylic, ink pens, collage, and pastel. Some of the projects may include mixed media techniques, such as combining watercolor, crayon and paper collage, while others will focus on just one media, such as acrylic painting. The projects are inspired by a wide range of artists and assignments can be used as jumping off points for your own inspiration, using your own photos, book illustrations, or magazine photos to create your own composition. Or you can use the art demonstrations as a guide to help you feel more comfortable with the specific media. This is a class for those who want to study a variety of subjects, such as landscapes, imaginary landscapes, and still life. This course is a skills-based course meant for beginners and those with some skills. Whether or not you complete an entire project during the class will depend on your level of skill. A supply list will be provided to the students at least one week prior to the start of the course. Supplies costs may vary but could average $100/student. This course starts with the very, very basics. You’ll learn about the major parts of a computer including the keyboard and mouse. Then you’ll build on your skills as you learn the basics of Windows, how to open a document, and use the internet.
