But not in Washington, but Washington County. Two weeks after the battle, Lincoln reviewed his troops and met with General McClellan and other Federal brass at sites still salient in the Antietam Valley. And the president posed for pictures too. Famous pictures, heretofore with locations unknown. Acclaimed Civil War author Dennis Frye has solved this mystery, and he will guide us into Lincoln Land right in our backyard. This bus tour will use the FCC Shuttle Bus and involves multiple tour stops with minimal walking. A sit down lunch is included in the tour fee. This 4-hour canoe trip will present the battle from a novel perspective, viewed and interpreted from the creek itself. You will “float” to places never seen and not accessible from the public battlefield. A Civil War adventure never to be forgotten. This trip requires that you have mobility to enter, exit, and paddle a 2-person canoe for the duration of the course. You could get wet as tipping your canoe is a possibility.
