Introduction to Biotechnology This course is designed for students preparing to enter or gain additional skills and knowledge in the biotechnology industry. It presents the tenets of Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and regulations relevant to the biotechnology and bioprocessing manufacturing industries. Importance of inspections and monitoring are discussed. Work-related issues are introduced such as workplace conduct, employer expectations, company organization and policy, personal safety, and industrial hygiene. One or more mandatory field trips and/or guest lectures may be included.
