Clay-Mation Movie Magic
Claymation has been used in films and television shows for years and this
is your chance to create a bit of that same cinematic magic of your own!
Students will write their own short stories, capture them through clay
modeling and photography, and finally create their own digital clayma-
tion film to share with friends and family! Lights, Camera, CLAYMATION!

Adventures in Clay
Use handbuilding techniques to create dishes, sculptures, and numerous
cool things out of clay. While focusing on handbuilding in this popular
class, you’ll learn the techniques of slab, coil and pinch pot methods that
have been used for centuries in the creation of functional and decora-
tive objects. Using your imagination along with the tools and materials
provided, you’ll create one-of-a-kind pieces of art that will be cherished
by you and your family. Items should be fired and ready for pick-up
within 4 weeks after the end of class. Some items might take longer
due to ceramic studio kiln availability.

Mudloving Teens
With the focus on handbuilding in this class, you’ll learn the ancient tech-
niques of slab, coil and pinch pot methods to create one-of-a-kind func-
tional and decorative pieces. Using your imagination and the tools and
materials provided, you’ll build three-dimensional projects like bowls,
vases, sculpture creatures and Ugly Jars. Students will be encouraged to
work at their own pace in this class that focuses on student talent and
interest. Items should be fired and ready for pick-up within 4 weeks
after the end of class. Some items might take longer due to ceramic
studio kiln availability.

Photo Maker Lab
Explore the many ways to experiment and create with photography
in this hands-on class. From making cameras to flip books, to transfer-
ring printed images for a game or sculpture, this experience will chal-
lenge both your technical and artistic sides. The possibilities are endless.
Students should bring their own digital camerawith emptymemory
card, batteries and a flash drive to class each day.

Junior Photographers Club
Embrace your creativity through the lens of a camera. From photo trea-
sure hunt races and creating your own camera to photo booth shenani-
gans and exploring trick camerawork, discover the imaginative world of
photography. At the end of the week put it all together for a delightful
photo medley representing everything you learned. Students should
bring their own digital camera with empty memory card, batteries
and a flash drive to class each day.

Digital Photography for Kids
Are you interested in how digital photography works? This class will
teach you. You will also learn how to compose better pictures, download
photographs and edit them. You will take pictures around campus to
fulfill specific photography assignments. Later, you’ll edit those images
on the computer and create a decorative way to display your art work.
Students must bring their own digital camera with empty memory
cards, card reader and batteries to all classes.

NEW! Advanced Digital Photography
Take your digital photography to the next level as you go beyond the
basics. Learn more advanced and creative shooting methods as well as
innovative composition techniques. After taking photographs around
campus, edit those images and pick up even more enhancing ways to
display your work. Students must bring their own digital camera
with empty memory cards, card reader and batteries to class.
Pre-requisite: Digital Photography TOC507 or similar photography
experience.
