Measure and mix ingredients using a variety of cooking tools as you learn the basics of ‘kitchenology.’ A variety of items will be prepared, and you’ll get copies of the recipes so that you can make the deliciousness at home. KOC293 Mixed Media Mania AGES 10-13 Join us for an adventure in 2-Dimensional mixed media art! Be introduced to famous collage artists and experiment with layering different media options. Compose your masterpiece with torn paper, yarn, fabric, paint, and endless options for materials. Through still life and photo reference studies, learn to compose a subject with any medium. Mixed media lends itself to creativity and self-expression so you will have a chance to create from your imagination. KOC347 Awesome Appetizers and Sensational Snacks AGES 8-11 & 12-15 Move over main course dishes! It’s all about healthy and delicious appetizers and snacks. From dips and homemade chips to eye catching hors d’oeuvres, craft delightful finger foods and wholesome midnight snacks. Taste sensation plus presentation combine to create a treat for your eyes and taste buds. KOC374 Kids Take Over the Kitchen: Red, White and Blueberries AGES 8-11 & 12-15 Prove your independence in the kitchen with delightful dishes you can create for a 4th of July picnic with your family and friends. Patriotic cupcakes, blueberry desserts, all American appetizers, and ice cream – delicious! Bring your imagination to this cooking class and be prepared to celebrate the 4th! KOC445 Calling All Painters AGES 8-11 Find inspiration with our introductory acrylic painting class. Learn some of the basic vocabulary of the acrylic artist and discover how acrylic paint can be applied in a variety of ways. From a classroom still life to an organic study in the gardens outside, you can find the master painter in you! KOC537 Dessert Circus AGES 8-11 & 12-15 If you have a sweet tooth, this class is for you! Learn how to make everything from pies, cakes, and custard, to monkey bread and cobbler. Desserts are not only delicious, they are fun to make! Learn to use kitchen tools and basic dessert-making ingredients and techniques. You can prepare a dessert circus for your family and friends anytime. KOC543 Stop Motion Movie Magic AGES 8-11 & 10-13 This is your chance to create a bit of cinematic magic - just like in popular claymation movies and shows. Students will write their own story lines, capture them through clay modeling and photography, and finally create their own digital claymation film to share with friends and family! Lights, Camera, CLAYMATION! KOC556 Art On Campus AGES 8-11 & 12-15 Discover art outdoors! You will be introduced to landscapes and nature sketching, with photo reference studies. Then, we will set up near the gardens and trees around campus for some real-life experience. Through the use of graphite, charcoal, and soft pastels, you will learn how to compose landscapes and sketches, as well as various techniques to apply each medium. KOC617 Pinch Pot Palooza AGES 6-9 Create pots, creatures, or colorful cupcakes, the possibilities are endless using the pinch pot and coil methods of hand building. Students will be given a new challenge each day as they let their imaginations soar! Items will be fired and ready for pick-up approximately four weeks after the end of the class, based on the college ceramic studio kiln availability. KOC619 Creative Drama AGES 6-9 Do you love playing make-believe? Do you love to be loud, goofy, and move around? If so, you belong in this class! Embrace silliness and creativity with fun games and activities while learning about basic acting skills like volume, body language, facial expressions, and more. Build confidence and learn teamwork by creating characters and scenes that come to life on the stage! In theater, your only limit is your imagination! KOC620 Musical Whimsy AGES 6-9 Explore different instruments such as boomwhackers, kazoos, recorders, and even ukuleles, as you learn how to read music and play songs. But wait, there’s more! By the end of the week you’ll perform songs together in an ensemble, and you’ll get to take home your own recorder and kazoo. KOC649 Painting on Canvas AGES 8-11 Paint, paint, canvas, paint, paint, brush! After learning a new painting technique each day, create a new piece of art to decorate your room or give to family or friends. No experience necessary but students MUST be willing to have fun!
