Strategic Priority 18:  FCC Early College Rollout


 Desired Outcomes
 1.  See annual increase in historically underrepresent students earning both a high school diploma and AA degree (First cohort graduation date
 Spring 2022)


 Timeline  Action Items
 FY 19   Schedule and hold multiple FCC Early College information nights on campus and at interested high schools, as well as offering
 professional development sessions for FCPS high school dual enrollment contacts (July 2019-ongoing).
    Finalize Early College marketing materials and paperwork (September 2020).

    Coordinate joint press releases by FCC and FCPS that announce the establishment of an early college that contains the first
 two information meetings for prospective students and their families as well as the due date for application for the first
 cohort.
 Identify location for the Early College Suite on campus.

    Transition Dual Enrollment Specialist position to Career Pathways and Early College Coordinator, shifting that position from
 support staff to administrator (Spring 2020). Add a clerical support position to the Dual Enrollment office (Spring 2020)
    Continue to collaborate with FCPS staff on best practices that increases the numbers of historically underrepresented
 students with the goal of increasing participation of underrepresented students 3% per year across all groups:
 Dual Enrollment participation FCPS Among all Graduating Seniors:
 Black/African American:  2018:  15% 2019: 26%
 Hispanic/Latino of any race: 2018: 20% 2019: 24%
 Free and Reduced Meals:  2018 17% 2019: 21%
    Identify instructors for the ENGL101 cohort and the ACCE 101 courses (Spring 2020).

    Identify community groups/partners to support the early college initiative (ongoing).
    Collect and analyze multiple data points related to Early College: grades, retention, and completion, underrepresented
 participation (ongoing).
 FY 20   Have a full cohort of 25 students for Fall 2020 start.

 FY 23-  Increase in enrollment every year of 3-4% until a maximum cohort 50 early college students is reached by fall 2025. Review
 24   student retention/success data and interventions used between year one and year two.  Analyze the effectiveness of
 interventions and implement any necessary changes or additions (2021-2025).
