Introduces the organization and essential functions of computer systems. This course surveys
the components of computer systems from the architecture point of view and provides an in-
depth discussion on topics including central processor until (CPU) structure, instruction sets,
data representation, computer arithmetic, digital logic, memory architectures, and parallel
processing. Students will also explore the support of operating systems from programming
perspectives.

Prerequisite: CJ 110
Examines the United States Constitutional limitations on law enforcement, emphasizing
arrest, use of force and search and seizure. Rules of evidence of particular importance to the
law enforcement function including: the hearsay rule and exceptions; documentary, opinion,
corpus delicti and circumstantial evidence; character and past crimes; evidentiary privileges;
jurisdiction and venue; and witnesses.
