Theme III: Faculty and Staff Development and Leadership
Goal: To ensure that faculty and staff professional development fosters educational excellence, innovation,
and leadership.
Strategic Priority 11: Implement the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Strategic Plan 2019-2024.
Desired Outcomes
1. To close the racial/ethnic opportunity gaps in access and success. (AACEWD Outcome Leader: Dr. Tony Hawkins, partnering with Learning
Support)
2. To assess and implement interventions, if needed, to close other opportunity gaps in access and/or success for other minority populations
(e.g., immigrant students, student parents, first-generation college students, students with disabilities, veteran students, etc.). To strengthen
communication to students, faculty, and staff around the resources at the College that support student success. (AACEWD Outcome Leaders:

3. To expand and strengthen culturally and globally conscious and responsive practices in the classroom and beyond. To expand and
strengthen global engagement in the classroom and beyond to build student capacity to be globally aware, engaged, and prepared for a

4. To better support faculty and staff in evaluating and building capacity for diversity, equity, and inclusion through the Employee Development

6. To expand and strengthen Liberal Arts, HBTS, and CEWD programs and courses that build skills for interacting across difference. (AACEWD

7. To strengthen faculty and staff leadership around diversity, equity, and inclusion in terms of knowledge about policies, protocols, best
