Academic Affairs, Continuing Education, and Workforce Development (AACEWD)
Master Plan – 2020-2025
Theme I: Educational Excellence
Goal: To enhance educational excellence, ensuring that students are developing the skills, awareness, and
knowledge needed to attain their academic, professional and/or personal goals.
• Strategic Priority 1: Expand Guided Pathways to improve student retention and completion
• Strategic Priority 2: Implement continuous improvement of the curriculum and delivery of
academic programs and courses
• Strategic Priority 3: Develop areas of growth for CEWD Non-Credit & Credit Programming
• Strategic Priority 4: Modernize General Education CORE curriculum
• Strategic Priority 5: Improve data architecture to develop KPIs (key performance indicators) and
ensure decision makers have access to needed data
• Strategic Priority 6: Expand Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) and Apprenticeship offerings, and
assess their use and impact on student success
Theme II: Support and Infrastructure
Goal: To enhance academic and student services and infrastructure to effectively and efficiently support
learning.
• Strategic Priority 7: Support student success in all learning environments by providing curricular
systems, library systems and resources, virtual learning and assessment environments,
instructional technologies, and innovative technology solutions necessary to support teaching
and enhance affordable access to learning.
• Strategic Priority 8: Establish Interprofessional Education Curricular Offerings
• Strategic Priority 9: Review, replace, develop, and streamline orientation protocols, business
processes, program specific policies and standard operating procedures to ensure consistency,
security, efficiency, and best practice.
• Strategic Priority 10: Ensure alignment of the IT Strategic Plan, Facilities Master Plan, and
AACEWD Plan goals in areas such as IT security, facilities renovations, and emergency
management.
Theme III: Faculty and Staff Development and Leadership
Goal: To ensure that faculty and staff professional development fosters educational excellence, innovation,
and leadership.
• Strategic Priority 11: Implement the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Strategic Plan 2019-2024.
• Strategic Priority 12: Champion innovation in all areas related to the support and implementation
of teaching and learning
• Strategic Priority 13: IT Plan – Strategic Direction 5 (Professional Development and User
Education). Provide ongoing professional development which creates a more informed and
technologically empowered College community prepared to meet current and future
opportunities.
