digital content forThe Commuter. Students receive practical experience in journalistic and social media

content, curation, editing, design, photography, and digital production using industry standard software.

Students will create and produce three journalistic publications per semester.

FSA101 - Fire Protection Systems (3)

Provides information relating to the design features and operation of fire alarm systems. Design

principles involved in structural fire protection and automatic suppression systems, including fire

resistance and endurance, flame spread evaluation, smoke control, special hazard fire suppression

systems, water supply for fire protection, and evaluation of sprinkler system designs will be examined.

Examines technical, investigative, legal, and managerial approaches to arson. Includes the fundamentals

needed for proper fire science interpretation, recognition of origin and cause, preservation and

documentation of evidence, scene security, motives of the fire setter, and types of fire causes.
