Develop goals to identify credentialing opportunities between non-credit to credit pathways to include badging and other

industry certifications that would expand PLA options for students.
Develop PLA marketing materials targeting students, community, and workforce and industry partners.
Create a PLA effectiveness plan that addresses the needs of different populations (e.g., ESL, military, other adult learners and

populations).
Partner with local workforce, industry, and external stakeholders to host PLA workshops.

FY 20-24 Establish agreements that support the portability of PLA credits earned that would be, transcripted, and transferable across

public institutions of higher education.
Assess the possibility of participating in the College Credit Fast Track program, where participating institutions have agreed
that the credit recommendations produced through the College Credit FastTrack system are transferable across all
community colleges in the state.

Create institutional PLA champions team who will be able to participate in discussion and policy decisions with legislators,
leaders at the other higher education institutional or system level, workforce agency, veteran affairs department, business
and industry groups. These champions can help build the case for improved PLA policies and practices and potentially serve
as subject matter experts.

Develop policies for awarding academic credit for learning from work and military experience, military and law enforcement
training, career college training, internships and externships, and apprenticeships.
Determine how military occupations can or will translate directly into licenses and certifications or as milestones toward
college degrees that lead to licensure.
Assess the barriers to degree completion experienced by military and veteran students and the role of PLA and
Apprenticeships as an option.

Inventory/document PLA and apprenticeship grant and other source funding to support the occupational skills and training
and PLA options.
